Dream Garage
Have you ever thought about a top ten of cars that you could live with exclusively. Well here's mine - My Dream Garage. In no particular order. If there is a theme to this, I suppose it is 'Form From Function'. If you don't understand that, ask George. He could always explain it better than I could.
If you think I am well wide of the mark, if I have picked a bunch of dogs, let me know. Tell me what you would feature by filling in the online form or by posting in the CausticSoda Online Forum. There are no rules except that there must be ten, no more, no less. Not nine, not eleven, and twelve is way out!

Nissan 300ZX / Fairlady Z
Absolutely stunning. The first and best Japanese supercar. A true Z car and a return to form for Nissan following the prevoius bloated blancmange 300ZX.
|
Lotus Elise
Now here's a car that embodies all that Lotus stands for. Light weight, reasonably affordable and fantastic handling. The original and the second generation are equally good.
|
Lexus IS200
Makes the BMW 3 series look second rate. This car proves that Japanese manufacturers are best when making a product that is truly Japanese rather than an imitation or pastiche of something else.
|
Mini Clubman
It's a tough choice. There must be a mini in here, but on reflection it must be this one. It may not look exactly like this zeemax kitted clubman, but it would have to absolutely mental. More fun than a barrel of particluarly excitable monkeys.

Nissan Skyline GTR
Totally outrageous. A saloon car with more electronics than you can shake a particularly sticky stick at.
|
RuF CTR2
Based on the old Porsche 993 - the last of the proper 911s. This retains all of the 993s character, but develops the whole package. Air cooled rear engine, VW beetle pedals, dashboard designed using the 'blindfold and blunderbuss' technique. Wonderful.

TVR Tuscan
What happened to TVR? Follow the 420 series (which did include the marvellous 420SEAC) with the Chimaera and Cerbera, and now the Tuscan. I blame Peter Wheeler - what a genius! Which one would I choose? It really has to be the Tuscan!
|
VW Kombi
I can't explain why I like it. I just do, okay! The original people carrier.
|
Rover P5
The classic big Rover. The favourite of gangsters and government ministers alike. Still an aesthetic dream.
|
Ford RS200
The only Group B rally car designed from the ground up. All the others used (highly developed) bodyshells of existing cars. The RS200 rose from the ashes of the Escort 1700T, but never showed its true potential due to the premature ban of Group B.
